Racheal Bloom was born in Manchester, and grew up in the North. She spent much of her childhood with her nose in books and wrote her first at aged 9. Racheal then moved South to attend university and study English and Politics, where she read novels at the back of lecture theatres. After a decade or more spent in Oxford and London, she decided Manchester still felt like home, and returned.
Despite a career in retail management, writing was always calling. Armed with two English degrees and a journalism post-grad, she did a stint on a local paper and worked briefly as an editor for a group of magazines. Her love of writing is matched by a love of photography. She’s photographed gigs, weddings, portraits, and pets for as long as she can remember. She lives with her husband in Manchester.
RED MiCE is Racheal’s first published novel.
She writes psychological thrillers under the name R Bloom, and YA magical realism fantasy under Racheal Bloom.
Her book FARFALEN, the first in a very different series, is coming soon.
